It Is Time To Make A Difference-Want In?

How about starting with the ‘man’ in the mirror!  I love the fact that MLMs are at a fever pitch (my opin), as it means that the world is shifting…Ya think?  Many get in because they can’t find a job that pays enough, or they just lost a job, or in case they lose their job.  Doesn’t matter, people are getting in.  Busy Executives, Entrepreneurs, Clerks, to stay at home Moms, everyone is qualified.  How is that for leveling the field?  So why do some excel, succeed and some bomb miserably?  Maybe it’s belief, personality, maybe they were born with it, how about they just didn’t quit and they found a SYSTEM, using attraction marketing and magnetic sponsoring.

The successful mlmers develop a duplicatable SYSTEM, whereby they can plug new peeps in and go on to the next one.  AND to top it off, what if that SYSTEM can bring you qualified, profiled, interested, pre-screened peeps, looking for an opportunity and have already seen what you have and want to know more or get going?  Wow!  I AM talking about put-your-feet-here and walk-this-way.  What a game-changer.  Now, people can build a group, a residual income without having to stalk their friends and family.  No special training or tons of money are needed to get started.  Get all the leads you can handle over the internet in the comfort of their own home, for as much or as little time as you want to put in, for a reasonable monthly fee.  Those of us in the group are still pinching ourselves.  A system of this power is very refined and therefore only applies to the primary products we represent and is only available within our group.

In Oct-Nov, I will be launching “Global Prosperity Foundation”, GPF, in conjunction with another women’s resource foundation in Phx, AZ.  My mission is to not only provide resources for women, but to provide a ways and means for women (and their families) to pick themselves up and re-build their life by providing a monetary vehicle to do it.  I don’t believe in giving someone a fish.  I believe in teaching them to fish and we will be able to provide a means for women to learn to use that fishing pole and fend for themselves with a residual income to build foundational wealth.

We are changing the world, want in?  When the getting and having of money is no longer an issue, then it becomes, who can I assist to do the same?  Now we are truly talking about an economic stimulus package and being able to Stay Home, Make Money, Have Fun, Change the World.  The saying goes ‘A drowning man cannot save a drowning man.’  But a person in a great sea-worthy boat can pluck many out of the water, dry them off and then have assistance running the boat and plucking others up.  I don’t believe in charity, I don’t believe in focusing on the poor.

As Wallace Wattles says, The Science of Getting Rich, Chapter 10, “Further Use of Will: YOU cannot retain a true and clear vision of wealth if you are constantly turning your attention to opposing pictures, whether they be external or imaginary…Put poverty and all things that pertain to poverty completely behind you…No matter how horrible in seeming may be the conditions in certain countries, sections, or places; you waste your time and destroy your own chances by considering them.  You should interest yourself in the world’s becoming rich.  Think of the riches the world is coming into, instead of the poverty it is growing out of; and bear in mind that the only way in which you can assist the world in growing rich is by growing rich yourself through the creative method–not the competitive one.

Give your attention wholly to riches; ignore poverty….It is the truth there is nothing as poverty; that there is only wealth.

Some people remain in poverty because they are ignorant of the fact that there is wealth for them; …and for these the very best thing you can do is to arouse their desire by showing them the happiness that comes from being rightly rich.”

If you have not downloaded it, I have The Science of Getting Rich, in pdf and mp3!  Chapter 17 is a summary, but don’t miss all the nuggets along the way.  Get plugged in.  If you would like either of these downloads email me, lana@lanaleslie.com, and I will email them out to you.

Be well, be rich,

Lana Dee

Leadership: The Art of Pulling vs. Pushing

 Team work is harmony
As a network marketing leader, I get alot of feedback from my downline about people who fail to step up. This leads me to question whether the issue was with the leader or the follower.

A leader who has a relationship with a group of people such as a department manager, a drill sergeant or a sports coach often asks for “volunteers” from their team to do something beyond what is expected.

How the group reacts to the request for volunteers says a lot about the leader and the followers. A leader who does not command respect may not get any response. A great leader however, will get the entire group to volunteer.

Great networking leaders will know what the response will be from a well managed team. One way to find this out is to ask them to go beyond what is expected of them and observing their behavior.

Testing your team in this way (asking for volunteers) can also be called “separating the men from the boys” or “the wheat from the chafe”, or “the cream will rise to the top”, etc. A leader must therefore test their team, observe and learn.

Not only is a lot of information revealed about the motivations and drive among the team, but the degree of respect for the leader can also be revealed.

Those who volunteer go into the “pull” group; those who resist volunteering go into the “push” group.  You can “lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink”. You have heard this many times. The point is obvious that one must decide they want to do something on their own.

Forcing someone to do something for which they do not having a burning desire is like pushing someone to do something against their will. They must possess the inner drive, the momentum so that you need only pull them along as a leader.

If you are a follower at the moment, examine how you react when your leader asks you to do something. Do they test you in any way? How do you react?

Do you feel resistance when they ask you to do something? Be careful not to be quick to put blame on the leader for failing to be an “effective” leader.

This could be a sabotage maneuver on your part. Perhaps you are not willing to go the extra mile to achieve your goals. Perhaps you are more aligned with the “idea” of having your own business rather than achieving it.

The actual achieving it would require you to change in some way and that is where many people get stuck. This is where leadership comes into play.

The effective leader can see the follower resisting. They know the feelings of being stuck. They can craft a game plan for the person and encourage them to create momentum so they can guide them along the path and pull them towards their goal.

Pushing is not leading. In fact, it is a step backward because you are not in front of them, rather you are behind them. You are in a subordinate position which only creates a relationship of dependency rather than self sufficiency.

As a network marketing leader, when someone falls into the “push” group, it is time to evaluate your strategy and time commitments. You may also wonder if it is you who is failing to be an effective leader.

Are you valuable to those you lead? Do you provide support, knowledge, encouragement and other forms of value to the group that they cannot get by going to a weekend seminar or purchase in a book?

Autoresponder Dependency – Are You a Recovered Attraction Marketer?

As a network marketing, MLM home based business professional, do you avoid using the telephone? Instead relying upon your autorespond messages to develop your relationship with your leads? You may be losing out converting those leads by not using your own voice instead of relying too much on your email follow up autorespond messages.

The principle of Attraction Marketing that makes you the “hunted” rather than you being the “hunter” can be misunderstood. You take steps to position yourself in such a way that you create this magic persona of attractiveness.  The intent is that your leads will see you as that of a leader, a coach, an expert, certainly someone that simply has more knowledge and skills than your prospects.

Yes, the actions you take to position yourself as a leader, to develop that “magnetic charisma” do not include actively pursuing leads, using persuasive language, or in any way coming across as needy, begging them to join your down line. This immediately deflates any sense of leadership you may have conveyed.  Indeed, attraction marketing does not endorse cold-calling as a general rule.

Prospects are looking for leadership – someone in whom they can trust to share with them the secrets of your success. Someone who will coach and support them on their path to abundance. They are looking for the value in what you have to offer. All of the content on your website, your email messages, videos and other forms of notoriety goes into their perception of that value.

Here’s the missing link out of the formula for successful attraction marketing that is usually undervalued or considered secondary: personal phone calls. Your public image and website content, article and video marketing, etc. may all be effective at getting them to contact you. but now that they have contacted you, you must close the deal! Most people will want to talk with you personally before making such a committment. And any top sponsor will likewise want to “interview” possible distributors to weed out anyone who will most likely not fit their selection criteria.

Don’t expect prospects to always directly sign up through your affiliate linked corporate website. If someone leaves their phone number as a part of the capture information on your opt-in box, you would be wise to call them soon. You would be surprised of their reaction to your call. In addition, they will likely be in a position to remember most of the information on your website. The fact that they left their phone number shows that they are serious and have a sense of urgency about finding out more informaton. They deserve a call back as soon as you can make it.

Now, when you do make that call, you must maintain your status and position as that of someone who has a high level of perceived value. You want to come across as a problem solver, someone there to find out how you can help them with thier situation.  Show that you care about them, that regardless of the outcome of the phone call, that you have helped them, provided objective advice and provided leadership.

You want your words, tonality and energy to be perceived as that of being a mentor to them. In the end, you must take control, assume leadership and if the timing is right, tell what to do next, whether that be doing so more research on their own, or to go to the website and sign up.

Obviously, such a conversation is impossible to convey through email exchanges or your website contents alone. In communication, the words you use only represent 7% of the total message that people “process” . How do expect to convey the rest of the “message” and create a postive impression without using your voice? A video message certainly helps, but a one on one phone call is priceless.
